An Election so what?
So an election coming up.
Been 10 since I was eligible.
In those 10 what changed
I stopped getting unemployment benefit, got child benefit instead - less.
I got Only 3% pay rise in 10 years as a local government employee. Whilst others got far more.
I saved, spent less and paid a mortgage (government got rid of council housing and encouraged private mortgages),
I learnt to drive (three test payments and lessons) and bought a second hand car (never had a new one)
I still did not vote.
I physically protested in London and other places against apartheid, poll tax, fracking, sus laws, racism, fascism,. Confronted the State Police and other agents of the state.
I was a trade union activist, steward, advocated strike action and other forms of action, most of my colleagues did not agree.
Meanwhile, successive governments continued to restrict protest, opposition and freedom of speech.
The System will defend/attack to protect its existence.
I still did not vote.
Those on the left regularly remind me that 'we' fought in a war, protested and won in court to enhance democracy.
Many on the left advocate voting as a protest, spoil it they say.
I still did not vote.
The right continue to use the claim that some people defined as 'lesser' by some label are The reason we have not succeeded as a country.
The UK is the 6th/7th richest nation in the world so if it were true we would be lower.
I still did not vote.
The likes of Farage have not been prosecuted by our democratic impartial law system for inciting racial hatred whilst many protestors have been fined and/or jailed for lesser crimes. Eg. Obstructing the highway, assault (no contact made), etc.
The system will be protected at any cost if required but objecting to the system is The Crime in a Democracy?
Julian Assange and Edward Snowden are proof.
They are neither War Criminals or Fascists but they are Enemies of The State (Democracy).
Has The UK government really helped victims
- Hillsborough campaign 97 people died due to incompetence of Chief Police Officers
- Grenfell Tower 72 people died due to lack of adequate fire protection and out of date advice.
The Public Inquiries set up by government found these 'facts' but has no power to act FACT!
More democracy to protect The System.
Wakey Wakey you are not getting justice, equality and freedom by this method.
Don't vote for a system that will not deliver even if you think it will, it won't.
