In 2005 Martyn Hillier opened The Butchers Arms in Herne, Kent. The first Micropub.

Keep it small, Keep it simple. Good beer and banter. 

In 2009 he made a presentation to CAMRA.

In  2012 he created The Micropub Association with Stu Hirst. 

In 2015 he was CAMRA's Campaigner of the Year.
